ODW #13:  On Panoramas and Other F(r)ictions
7 – 10 May 2024

This workshop week departs from the exhibition Panorama of Congo Unrolling the Past with Virtual Reality, currently at MUHNAC (Natural History Museum*), to reflect and act on this panoramic painting, both as a narrative/artistic device and object of colonial propaganda. The event follows a decolonial perspective and is structured through a collaborative practice between professors/researchers and students from Un. Lusófona and LUCA School Of Arts and Congolese artists from Panoptical Dissidence (intervention in the Panorama of Congo´s VR), and civil society organizations.
