History
DE L LI – Design Lusófona Lisboa is a small and independent design department at Lusófona University in Lisbon that hosts the experimental Bachelor's in Communication Design and Master's in Design programmes.
It was created in 2017 by designer, artist and professor Luís Alegre, with the collaboration of professor and researcher Filipe Luz.
The department was born out of the desire to restructure the university's old design degree programme, which ended up with a completely new structure and methodology. The aim was to create a design degree programme with a different pedagogy from those already existing in the Portuguese (and international) education system, offering a broader and more experimental approach to graphic design and communication.
From the begining the department has its own pedagogy and space – the DELLI Office – within the university campus.
DE L LI is as a project in constant questioning and transformation, integrated into the context in which it operates and therefore open to explore new pedagogies, environments and learning models.
