Cachimbos do Manuel (Manuel`s pipes), publication, 2024.

This is not a catalogue of pipes! This is nota catalogue of pipes!

With this publication I aimed above all to immortalise my grandfather Manuel's pipe collection, offering an organised and sectioned space, just as he wanted and demanded. The project was done with my grandfather's help, as his knowledge and experience in the world of pipes was essential in collecting and organising them... I made sure he was also in touch with the whole process that led to the final product... from the first photograph to the last detailed description we wrote together.

A mere catalogue, but it is also childhood memories, of when I would spend hours asking where they came from, who made them, and how they were used, the hundreds of pipes that seemed to possess unimaginable value.

By dividing the event into three main areas, and each area having it´s own color, i was capable to section a: Workshop dedicated space (green); Art Fair / shopping space (red); Seminars / talks space (blue).

HOW CAN I KNOW WHAT IT IS WITHOUT SEEING IT? publication, 2022.

Graphical perception is the human ability to interpret information on visual material and is sometimes placed before any cultured experience. There are no concrete images in this catalogue. Just shapes and descriptive words.

This publication´s concept was created after an argument about the common saying "A picture is worth a thousand words", and how people most times perceive and digest the image better than the written word. Due to this i made a catalogue of objects from my grandmas house, where i only used their silhouette, making some more obvious than others. The main focus of the publication was to create a conflict between the pre-conceded idea of what it would be, and the actual identity or the identity, i (the author) let the consumer know, of the object.
